James Brown

Mr James Brown has been involved with Carecall since 2004 and is currently the Chair of Carecall board. In 2009 Mr Brown became a Trustee of the Niamh Board and a member of the Niamh Appointments and Remuneration Committee. He is currently the Managing Director of Funeral Services Northern Ireland and the National President of Irish Association of Funeral Directors (IAFD)

Peter McBride

Peter McBride is the Chief Executive Designate of Niamh and former Director of Carecall, the commercial arm of Niamh. He qualified as a Social Worker and has worked post qualifications in the field of counselling.

Before becoming Director of Carecall, Peter was the Training Manager for Cruse Northern Ireland and was involved in the training and management of counsellors. Peter has specialist training in the management of psychological trauma.

Alan Ferguson

Alan Ferguson OBE MSc has been Chief Executive of Niamh, Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health since 1976. Recently he was convenor of the Mental Health Promotion expert working committee for the Bamford Review on Mental Health and Learning Disability and chaired the Strategic Development Group which produced “A Flourishing Society - Aspirations for Emotional Health and Wellbeing in Northern Ireland” a report commissioned by the Chief Medical Officer and carried out by the Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health. Prof. Ferguson is a visiting Professor at the University of Ulster.and was awarded an OBE in the 1985 Birthday Honours List.

Desmond Poole

Dr A Desmond Poole is currently Vice-Chairman of Niamh and a clinical psychologist previously with Windsor House, Belfast City Hospital. Prior involvement with the Association includes his work with the South Belfast Beacon Day Support centre of Niamh in his role as Chairman of the support group. Dr Poole acts in a clinical advisory capacity for Carecall.
